We are dedicated to tackling the problem of healthcare accessibility by developing affordable robotic devices for rehabilitation. For years, robotic rehabilitation devices are designed for hospital settings due to their large physical size, and extremely high price. Thus, it is not feasible for community or home use as well as not affordable for the local community users.
As most stroke rehabilitation takes place in the communities, disabled stroke survivors are in great desire and need to access affordable robotic rehabilitation technologies. We strive for developing affordable and portable robotic devices for rehabilitation in communities and households.

HandyRehab is a smart robotic glove system which facilitates recovery of people with stroke by providing task-based training, such as holding on a glass of water. The training includes 7 common hand movements in our daily life. Patients could choose their own training intensity, out of the 3 levels, in accordance to their rehabilitation progress.Equipped with the sensor of electromyography (EMG), the robotic glove could assist patient to perform a movement upon detecting the patient’s intention to move with electromyography (EMG).
